In response to the large majority of parishioners who said, via our recent community questionnaire, that they’d like to see a defibrillator located in Hail Weston, the Crime and Safety group has now started raising funds to buy one.
We had a demo from a local paramedic and were convinced that it really is a good idea. The device is very easy to use, has impressive safety features to prevent accidents and the cabinet access code is given by the 999 operator once you’ve made an emergency call. Emergency services then take responsibility and will tell you what to do before an ambulance arrives.
We need to raise a bit more than £2000 to buy and install a defibrillator and the proposal is to locate it in a locked cabinet on an outside wall of the village hall.
Ways you can help:
- Donate any amount, however small, via our JustGiving page at https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/HWdefib/
- Come to our fundraising event at the village hall on Easter Saturday, 26th March from 2-4pm
- Get in touch if you’d like to help or know more: janesugars1@gmail.com

Best wishes
